Working For The Administration Of Child Protection Services. They Each
Personally Dive Into A Reality Of Abuse That’s Much Deeper Than What’s
Faced In Their Line Of Work Forcing Them To Heal, Love, Forgive And
Accept Their Calling As Children Of God.
“A Child of God” is a story about a group of diligent social workers working for the Administration of Child Protection Services. Despite the workers dedication to provide security for every endangered child they encounter; they each personally dive into a reality of abuse that’s much deeper than what’s faced in their line of work.
Vivian Morrison, struggling with trust issues for her husband that fathered a child outside of their marriage, physically and verbally abuses him as a way to recover from the pain and embarrassment placed upon her. Pearla Martinez, suffers from so much low self esteem and insecurities that she puts up with the verbal and physical abuse imposed upon her from her boyfriend. Abdul Hamed, though a very loving and caring husband towards his wife from the outside looking in, he sexually abuses her in noncompliant ways.
Each one of these social workers faces the irony of doing everything they can to protect a child from abuse, yet dwell in circumstances where different forms of abuse are accepted and ok. They soon understand that just as violence and maltreatment against children is unacceptable and never tolerated; the same goes for adults, who in the end are considered children of God.
“Child of God 2” is a story that continues with a group of social workers healing from their domestic violence trauma. Because of the psychological pain that was inflicted on each of them, they have each developed dependencies on different addictions. Not wanting to destroy their very livelihood, they each search for answers that will help them overcome their weaknesses to restore their peace, faith and love.
“Child of God 2” is a continuation story about a group of diligent social workers working for the Administration of Child Protection Services. Despite the workers dedication to provide security for every endangered child they encounter; they each diminish their own personal security by engaging in senseless addictions that destroy the wellbeing of themselves and the family and friends surrounding them.
Fredrick Morrison struggles with alcoholism, a habit picked up after the separation between him and his wife Vivian Morrison due to the verbal abuse she imposed on him. Since leaving her physically abusive boyfriend Dominic, Pearla Martinez developed an addiction to cutting herself as a coping mechanism to mask the pain of her depression and anxiety. Though Abdul and his wife Sarah has discussed the possibilities of making amends to restore their marriage, Sarah still needs her time to heal from the trauma of sexual abuse. Because of her withdrawal, Abdul has garnered addictions elsewhere to appease his sexual needs.
Each one of these social workers face the irony of doing everything they can to help a child overcome traumatic experiences, yet wallow in negative circumstances themselves. They soon understand that the same therapy, counseling and protection provided to children should also be given to adults, who in the end are considered children of God.
